NEWS RELEASE

The Race is On…To A More Sustainable Fuel Source!

What happens when you pour canola based biodiesel into a race car?  If you are Kevin

Therres, you get one crazy ride!  He has designed the ‘007’ Jet Funny Car strictly for speed

and this car certainly knows how to deliver.  Come see this amazing car at Cruz’ in Downtown

on August 11, 2007.

Kevin is bringing his amazing jet car to Winnipeg to be apart of the Cruz’ in Downtown night.

“You won't believe it but this jet car runs on 100% canola based biodiesel!” states car owner

and driver Kevin Therres. “This car burns up what once was a beautiful blossoming hillside of

yellow flowers in a farmer's canola field.”  Biodiesel is a proven, renewable and clean-burning

fuel source that is supplying an increasing amount of energy in the EU and US.  In fact, biodiesel

is the fastest growing alternative fuel in the US.

As a special event Kevin will be bringing the ‘007’ Jet Funny Car out to Kelburn Farm on

August 10, 2007 to share his love of speed with a group of daycare kids.  The kids will get to be

up close and personal with the Jet Funny Car.  They will also get to see the canola fields that

produce its fuel.

The ‘007’ is a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette with a J60 Pratt and Whitney jet engine that runs on

biodiesel. This car will throw massive flames, do some impressive pops, and create a cloud of

smoke so large you will lose the car in it.  This 7500 horse power machine burns 15 gallons of

biodiesel per run.  It is fully loaded with a hand built after burner, Goodyear tires, Wildwood

brakes, Strange disc and hubs, and chute metal parachutes.
