Agronomic Research and technology is a priority for MCGA. MCGA maintains the funding to agronomic research projects to ensure that Canadian and Manitoba canola remains a high quality crop. The majority of canola check off dollars go to research that focuses on increasing the quality and yield of canola while decreasing the costs of productions.
MCGA funds:
Canola Agronomic Research Program (CARP)
The goal of this program is to increase the profitability of
canola production.
Canola Advantage Program
New extension focused program from the Canola Council of
Canada. The program is focused on providing growers with production information targeted at improving profitability to make canola one of their best cropping options.
Manitoba Canola Variety Evaluation Team (MCVET)
MCVET conducts trials and publishes other third party data for a range of cereal, pulse, oilseed and forage crops at sites across the province. The information is collected from different sites across the province.
