Ag in the Classroom Elects New President

The Board of Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC-M) has elected Ellen Pruden as their new President on April 7, 2003. She has served on the AITC-M board for 5 years and last year was elected as the Vice President of the organization. Ellen Pruden is the Education and Promotion Coordinator of the Manitoba Canola Growers Association (MCGA). Outgoing President Ray Pellitiar declined the opportunity to run as President.

"I am excited to serve as President of such a progressive and worthwhile organization," states Pruden, "MCGA sees the value of supporting AITC-M and has been a sponsor for the past 10 years."

AITC-M is a non-profit organization supported by industry and individuals with a mandate to provide accurate, balanced and current agriculture information (the ABC’s) to teachers and students.

The Manitoba Canola Growers Association has supported AITC-M for the past 5 years with $10,000 core sponsorship funds and also sponsors specific projects like Amazing Grains Winnipeg and Brandon, Made in Manitoba breakfast, along with others. Last year, MCGA provided ATIC-M with $14,500 for core and project funding.

The Manitoba Canola Growers Association is a non-profit organization made up of producers who share the goal to develop and promote the development and marketing of Manitoba grown canola.
