Manitoba canola growers will vote this fall
November 1, 2005: Manitoba farmers who belong to the Manitoba Canola Growers Association will be voting this fall for four directors from a slate of seven candidates nominated by the deadline of October 31, 2005.
Ballots will be mailed to 10,000 members on November 15, 2005. They must be returned to Meyers Norris and Penny LLPs office by December 9, 2005. Ballots will be counted on December 12, 2005.
Growers who are running are: Brian Chorney, East Selkirk; Steve Fosty, Beausejour; Wilfred Harder, Lowe Farm; Eduard Hiebert, St. Francois Xavier; Ed Rempel, Starbuck; Ernie Sirski, Dauphin; and Dallas Watt, Reston.
MCGA vice-president Brad Day of Deloraine, says "MCGA is very pleased with the interest our members have shown in this election. An election means that this organization is healthy and that there are producers out there that are willing to get involved in our organization."
