Provincial Environmental Plan (PEP) Coordinator Hired
For Immediate Release
The Manitoba Canola Growers Association (MCGA) is please to announce that Jewel Mazur has joined our team as the Provincial Environmental Plan (PEP) Coordinator. Jewel has her Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and has a Master of Natural Resource Management from the Natural Resources Institute. Jewel is no stranger to agriculture. She grew up on a small farm north of Rossburn and currently helps her husband run a mixed farm northeast of Russell.
MCGA Provincial Environmental Plan is a voluntary commodity-based version of an Equivalent Agri-Environmental Plan (EAEP). MCGA is offering this option to producers as a complementary alternative to individual Environmental Farm Plans. The PEP targets water quality as a single environmental priority common to all canola producers in Manitoba.
Jewel has been busy setting up workshops across Manitoba. To date she has 9 set up. To see the locations of the workshops visit the Manitoba Canola Growers Association website www.mcgacanola.org.
MCGA is a member organization committed to maximizing net income from canola.
