Canola Learning Centre Coordinator (CLC Coordinator) The Manitoba Canola Growers Association (MCGA) is a non profit organization that is made up of members, directors and staff whose mandate is to enhance profitability of Manitoba canola growers through research, marketing and policy.
MCGA is committed in providing health and recipe information on canola oil to health professionals, dieticians, educators, chefs and food service personnel.
There are approximately 9,000 canola growers in Manitoba and on average they plant 3 million acres of canola.
Start Date: April 29th, 2013
End Date: August 30th, 2013

The CLC Coordinator will work closely with MCGA Educational and Promotional coordinator:
1) Canola Learning Centre The Canola Leaning Centre invites 1200 school children and daycare children out to Kelburn Farm to learn about agriculture. Duties would include promotion of program, updating the email database, mail outs, running of school tours, developing and packaging activities, resources and materials.
2) Development of educational activities MCGA will be developing educational activities for school age children. Duties include researching new ideas for projects such as biodiesel experiment, updating current programs.
3) Promotion events and resources: MCGA attends various events and share resources in order to promote canola to consumers and share information with growers. Duties include working booth shifts, mail outs, assisting in organization of promotion events, research and development of resources.
We are looking for a motivated, self starter, creative, organized student with excellent verbal, written and computer skills. The AE&PC must be friendly, outgoing, and approachable. They must have the ability to work independently within a team environment. They must have access to a vehicle and willing to travel to Kelburn farm to run Canola Learning Centre tours. They must be able to work with children.
