Assiniboine Community College Culinary Competition
is a black box style cooking competition that challenges students to come up with a salad and an entree using the surprise ingredients put before them. Dishes are judged on taste, presentation, and use of canola oil with the winners receiving a scholarship from MCGA.

Biodiesel Jet Funny Car
is a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette powered by a J60 Pratt and Whitney Jet Engine that is more commonly used in the T-2 Buckeye, an intermediate training aircraft for the US Navy. The car is specifically designed for drag racing with dual parachutes and the aerodynamic design of the Corvette body. MCGA is proud to sponsor this crowd-drawing ambassador for canola-based biodiesel.

is a free farm tour and learning experience aimed at educating urban students and their educators about canola and other Manitoba crops in a real agronomic setting using fun, entertaining, hands on activities.

Creative Canola Oil Baking Contest
is a unique category at many country fair baking competitions across Manitoba. Monetary prizes are awarded to the most delicious recipe that contains canola oil in each participating Agricultural Fair.

Great Tastes of Manitoba
Rated in the top 50 shows in Manitoba, the Great Tastes of Manitoba is an educational cooking program that features Manitoba food at its best. In the fall of 2011 the show will be entering its 22nd season. Airing on CTV in both the fall and spring the program continues to teach people about local food that you can prepare at home.

Heart and Stroke Association
and the Manitoba Canola Growers are proud to work together on initiatives that that share the heart healthy canola message.  Projects include; sponsorship of annual Heart Smart Cooking videos that air during the month of March, Nutrition Month, and are then housed on YouTube for a larger viewing audience, a bi-annual Quick and Healthy Cookbook that gives consumers new healthy ideas for their home kitchens and various other cross promotional activities throughout the year.

The space combines media production and culinary arts to maximize the learning opportunities for college students.
